Dr. Sturchio is Professor and Head of the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), and Director of UIC's Environmental Isotope Geochemistry Laboratory. He has extensive experience in analytical environmental geochemistry of trace elements and compounds, including numerous field and laboratory studies using forefront techniques. Dr. Sturchio has over 150 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters, and holds a U.S. patent for the development of a widely used method for isotopic analysis of chlorinated solvents. He is a consultant to DOD, DOE, EPA, and IAEA, as well as a number of industrial and legal clients, regarding a wide range of basic and applied research in environmental geochemistry and isotope forensics.
